Children who participate in Yoga not only experience a increase in physical health but they also learn a variety of self-regulation skills. Students will learn strategies that increase self-awareness and self-control. Through regular practice children who engage in Yoga, report increased self-esteem and reduced stress levels. Research has shown that Yoga practice reduces symptoms of impulsivity, hyperactivity and distractability in children who are diagnosed with ADHD. Children who participate in Yoga classes tend to experience increased academic performance.
